Workspace Audit

How to maintain structural integrity using the /para-audit workflow.

Workspace Audit (/para-audit)

The Audit system is the immune system of a PARA Workspace. As projects grow and multiple agents interact with the file system, structural drift (loose files, misplaced folders, or missing metadata) is inevitable.

The /para-audit workflow is a specialized Macro Assessor designed to detect and report these inconsistencies.

πŸ” What the Audit Scans

When you run /para-audit, the agent performs the following checks:

LayerCheckInvariant
RootNo loose files allowed outside of core system files.I1
PillarsVerification of Projects/, Areas/, Resources/, and Archive/.I8
ProjectsExistence of project.md and active backlog.md.I4, I2
LibrariesAlignment between installed workflows/rules and the catalog.yml.H9

πŸ“‘ The Audit Report

After scanning, the system generates a dated report in Areas/Workspace/audits/audit-report-YYYY-MM-DD.md.

This report includes:

  • Structural Integrity: Which invariants passed or failed.
  • Drift Detected: List of loose files or inactive projects.
  • Remediation Plan: Recommended actions (e.g., using /para-rule standardize or manual archiving).

πŸš€ How to Run

Simply ask your agent:

β€œRun a workspace audit” or ”@[/para-audit]”

It is recommended to run an audit once a week or after major structural changes.
